A little History

For two years, beginning in June of 1998 and ending in August of 2000, I hosted a shortwave radio show called "The Survival Report." I started the show because of a need for real, factual Preparedness and Survival related information. Every Friday night at 10pm, for 2 years, I gave an hour long talk on Preparedness and Survival related topics that was much more in depth than the standard "you need a 72 hour kit" BS that was in the mainstream survival and Patriot community. Over the course of the 2 years, I taught listeners what I knew about water filtration (both improvised and commercial), food storage techniques, basic gear setup, weapons selection and basic use, survival communications, first aid and basic medical techniques, "buggin out", selection of retreat or AO areas, setup of retreats, survival Group setup and group dynamics, and in depth study of Nuclear warfare protection, chemical and biological defense, how to raise rabbits and chickens, basics of organic gardening, map reading and land navigation, retreat security, basics of alternate energy, basic patrolling skills and fuel storage just to name a few that come to my head. As one regular listener put it "listening to your show is like a course in how to be a survivalist." Each subject was dealt with in depth. So much to the fact that I spent 4 shows going over everything I knew about raising rabbits. One lady I met at a Preparedness Expo said "oh yeah, your the rabbit guy", I couldn't complain, I've been called worse.

I am not ashamed of the word "survivalist" despite how the media has destroyed the true meaning of the word. You will not hear me use any PC type words like "prepared American" or any of that garbage. I'm a survivalist and I'm not ashamed of it.

I became a survivalist very young and quickly took the matter to heart. For 20 years I've been preparing, learning, growing and sharing what I've learned along the way. I've learned and experienced a lot in those years, and I hope to share some of it with you on this blog. I've spent a considerable amount of money, time and sweat learning some of the info I will share with you. All I ask is that you appreciate my efforts. I welcome short articles on subjects pertaining to Preparedness and Survivalism.

Be forewarned! I may shatter some commonly held beliefs relating to survivalism. Half way plans or half way measures will not work in my book, and I will let you know that. Be forewarned! You may be upset at me when I shatter some of these myths. But if it helps your Family to survive, I can live with you being upset at me.

I sincerely hope you get something out of this Blog, if it's helped you, please drop me an email and let me know. I appreciate the support.
